Welcome!

Welcome! My name is Carrie and I am one of the many people struggling with a severe and increasingly prevalent condition called Chemical Sensitivities (CS), also known as Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). I have created this website as a way to educate people about CS and the urgent need for fragrance-free, non-toxic living.

In today’s society, the amount of fragrances and other chemicals used in common household products, beauty products, cleaning, construction, manufacturing, and other industries is astounding. Many people go about their daily lives not paying much attention to which products they use and what’s in the air they’re breathing. I used to be one of these people. I didn’t think much of the unpronounceable ingredients in my soap, perfume, dryer sheets, or even my food. I didn’t think they were really harming me. Later in life, as I developed chronic headaches, fatigue, brain fog, and other symptoms, I began to make the connection between what I put on and in my body, what I was exposed to, and how I felt.

This website is designed to achieve three main goals as listed below in the Mission Statement. Please browse this website with an open mind and remember that people’s lives really are depending on the everyday product choices that the rest of the world makes. Probably more than any other health condition out there, you have the power to help people with Chemical Sensitivities. My hope is that you will compassionately consider the experiences of a more sensitive population and be inspired to think more deeply about your impact on the environment and the people around you.

Mission  Statement

1)     To educate the general public about Chemical Sensitivities (CS) - also known as
Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS). What is it? What’s it like to live with it?

2)   To inform consumers of the health risks of chemical and fragrance based products for all individuals, including those without any major health problems.

3)   To promote and encourage fragrance-free living as a way to support people struggling with Chemical Sensitivities, support your own health, and support the environment.

 Important Note!!

This website
is not in any way intended to be a complete medical or scientific explanation of Chemical Sensitivities or the specific physiological effects of fragrances and chemicals on our bodies. There are plenty of professionals and organizations that are working very hard and conducting a lot of research to provide this information to the public. You can find a lot of this information online.

My intention here is to create an informative resource that will grab your attention and get you thinking about your impact on the people and the world around you. My aim is to help instigate this very important reflection process for as many people as possible and also to provide tools you can use to educate others.

There is a lot of work to do, some of it on a political level and some on a more personal level. This website is mostly about the personal level - it's about you and the power and responsibility you have to make conscious and considerate choices with the everyday products you use so that you are not harming your body, the people around you, or the environment.

I want this website to make a difference - but I need your help! Please spread the word and consider putting one of our Bumper Stickers on your car. For information on advocacy and other ways you can help, click HERE.
